The purpose of the United Methodist Women organization is “to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of missions through participation in the global ministries of the church.”

At First United Methodist we have six circles, each with their unique personalities.  They are listed below:

 
Esther Circle –
Meets at 9:30 a.m. on the 2nd Thursday. (No meetings in June, July or August.) Members of this circle usually meet in each other’s homes. Most of these women are retired and/or homemakers. The chair is Diana Holverson.

Lydia Circle-
Meets at 10:00 a.m. on the 2nd Thursday. (No meetings in June, July or August) Members usually meet in the church parlor. Most are retired and/or homemakers. Chair is Patti Glaze.

Mary Magdalene Circle –
Meets at 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd Thursday. (No meetings in July or August.) Members usually meet in the church parlor or in the new Fellowship Hall. Most of these women are employed, some are retired. The chair is Jan Rogers.

Susanna Circle –
Meets at 6:30 p.m. on the 1st Monday. (No meeting in July.) Members usually meet in the church parlor or Fellowship Hall. Most of these women are younger, some employed, many with children still in the home. Chair is Sheila Urbonas.

Ruth Circle –
Meets at 7:00 p.m. on a 2nd Thursday. Members meet in the youth area. Members are high school students. Their adult leader is Jennifer Willis.

Sarah Circle –
Meets at 10:00 a.m. on a day to be announced. Members meet at Brookfield Assisted Living Facility. Leaders are Alwilda Powell, Caroline Shaffer, Marie and Jack Parsons and others.
