Did you know food is mentioned 90 times and eating is referenced over 100 times in the New Testament alone? The biblical story begins with God providing food for Adam and Eve and the stage is set for God’s plan of salvation when Adam and Eve eat of the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. People express their faith in what they eat. In John 6, Jesus even says that his followers must eat His flesh and drink His blood. What sets us apart as Christians? This question will be answered in the 7 week sermon series entitled “Food For Thought.”

Our current sermon series is about finding opportunities in the interruptions. “Maximizing Moments” is an eight week series that focuses on eight individual times that interruptions happened involving Jesus. The first four weeks highlight on when Jesus was interrupted and how he responded and the last four sermons are moments when Jesus did the interrupting. Jesus used these interruptions as opportunities to work miracles. What would happen if we decided to use the interruptions of life to do amazing things for the kingdom of God?

We will be covering A.W. Tozer’s “The Knowledge of the Holy” throughout this current sermon series. There are two main questions the book asks and challenges us to think about: What is the nature of God? How can we recapture a real sense of God’s majesty and truly live in the Spirit? These and other vital questions show us how we can rejuvenate our prayer life, meditate more reverently, understand God more deeply, and experience God’s presence in our daily lives.
