Basic ERT (Early Response Team) Member Training – February 24, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Claremore First United Methodist Church. Cost is $25 and includes supplies, a t-shirt, and a light lunch.  Class size is limited to the first 20 participants. Deadline for registering is February 16, 2018.

ERTs are not a first-response group, nor are they recovery, rebuild, or repair teams. Under very specific guidelines, ERTs assist survivors, without causing further harm or being a burden on the affected community, or jurisdiction. Participating ERTs are encouraged to wear bright green t-shirts as a means of recognition.

Winter, 2017 (2015, 2013). The team nurtured many relationships established from previous trips, and made many new friends as well.  Asbury College is in a rural area on Anda Island in the northern Philippines.  The rapidly growing school educates children from pre-kindergarten through young adults in college.  The infrastructure of the school is struggling to keep up with the demands placed on it.  While visiting Asbury, the team helped support the digging of water wells, septic systems, and drainage projects.  Much more work needs to be done.  If you would like to help fund vital projects for Asbury College, please contact Laurie Ault at 918-341-4580, ext. 310.
