Thursday, September 20th ~ Intergenerational Lunch and Awesome Music!
We will be sharing a delicious lunch with delightful company! Both the Pre-K class from Stepping Stones and also some residents from Brookdale next door will all be joining us for lunch in our Fellowship Hall. After our luncheon gathering, our special feature will be music from the wonderful local trio, True Voice. I have heard this group sing, and they are outstanding! They sing everything from oldie-goldies to gospel. This month should be very special…so come join us!
Be sure to sign up here or at the Welcome Desk so we know how many people we will be feeding.
Tuesday, October 16 – Pansy Stallings in concert
Special Invitation to Hilltoppers: Tuesday, October 16th, Memorial Heights Baptist Church has invited us to a very special event. Pansy Stallings, the phenomenal gospel pianist who was at First United Methodist Church last spring, will be performing at 12:30 in their sanctuary (between Mazzio’s and Sonic on Will Rogers Blvd.) following their Potluck Luncheon at 11:45. If you love gospel music, you will love this SAMs and SALs (Senior Adult Men and Senior Adult Ladies) event. Feel free to join them for lunch also.
Thursday, October 18th – Road Trip to Edmond
October’s Hilltopper get-together will be a road trip to Edmond. We will be visiting an exciting multimedia exhibit about the history of how Jerusalem, under the leadership of King Hezekiah and Isaiah, escaped annihilation at the hands of the Assyrians in the eighth century B.C. These sensational artifacts grabbed international headlines when first discovered and now make their world premiere in the Grand Lobby of Armstrong Auditorium. Come see this remarkable exhibit and discover the inspiring, desperate—yet hope-filled—story of King Hezekiah and Isaiah!
After the exhibit, we will head for home via Route 66 through Arcadia stopping, of course, at the famous Pops for a fantastic lunch and “pop” shopping! What a fantastic day….be sure to mark your calendars now!
