Connected Small Group at Vessel Church –

Connected Small Group meets every other Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 at Vessel Church. They are taking a break in December. Check back here to find out when they resume their regular schedule.  Contact Cheryl Crawford at 918-244-0649 for information about Connected Small Group.

Alpha –

Alpha is a weekly small group meeting for people in any stage of their journey of faith.  This eleven-week experience takes place from 6:00 to 8:00 Mondays at Vessel Church, and Wednesdays at Central Campus.  Alpha will resume February 21, 2018. To learn more or to register, click here.

Disciple Bible Study –

Disciple is a series of Bible Study courses ranging from 32 to 34 weeks.  Disciple One covers eighty-five percent of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.  Once you have taken Disciple One you may take the other Disciple courses in any order.  Disciple begins in the fall of each year and ends in May.  Watch the bulletin and newsletter to find out when to sign up for the next Disciple Bible Study class.

Bible Study Fellowship – Men, Women, and Children

Bible Study Fellowship, is meeting here at First United Methodist. Classes run from September to May, and this year they are studying the book of Romans. Men meet Tuesday evenings at 6:50 (contact Bill Polson at 918-855-8782), and women meet Friday mornings at 9:10 (contact Tia Stout at 918-557-0582). Children meet at the same time as the women.

Connected Small Group

This group meets at Vessel Church every two weeks on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  The group conducts scripture-based studies and provides a judgement-free, supportive environment through fellowship and prayer.  Watch the church calendar for meeting dates.  Contact Cheryl Crawford for information.


Sunday School Classes

Sunday school classes are a great way to get connected and discover more about your faith.  Check out one of our Sunday school classes or start one of your own.  For more information about a particular class, call the church office for leader contact information.

9:45 a.m.

Seekers – Room 102 – This class is a discussion-based class  adults ages 40-80.  We study contemporary Christian writers such as James Moore, Max Lucado, and others.  We also have in-depth Bible studies.  Leaders are John Starr, Chris Cole and Jerry Powell.

Fellowship – Room 103 – Mostly retired couples and individuals age 65 and older who meet to share life, have monthly fellowship luncheons and study the Bible using the International Lesson Series.  Leaders are Ron Folsom and Dean Selvy.

Perryman – Room 104 – Very-young-at-heart 50 and 60 year olds discuss Biblically-based studies.  Contact Darlene Beiergrohslein for more information.

Pickett – Room 105 – Most members are retired and have children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  They take an active interest in the community and participate in most church-related activities.  Leaders are Barbara Murray, John Detter and Bob Howland.

Witness – Room 106 – Women joining together for Christian growth and fellowship who gladly welcome new faces!  Leaders are Vicki Vann and Kathy Geyer.

Journey 101 – Room 107  –  An energetic and enthusiastic cross section of God-fearing people ranging in age from young to not-so-young.  Group Leaders are Wes Ingram and Rick Antle.

Directions – Room 108 – This class is comprised of multi-generational adults.  The class has studied the adult Bible series and books by Adam Hamilton, J. Ellsworth Kalas, James Moore and others.  Teaching duties are shared by several members of the class.  New members are welcome to join us for Bible study, lively discussion, fellowship and prayer.  Leaders are Clayton and Cindy Rogers, Ryon and Jennifer Parham, Kevin and Lacy Shoemaker and Ron Scott.

11:00 a.m.

The Way – Room 102 – A diverse group in age and experience. They encourage each other to use the class as The Way to develop a deeper relationship with God.  They use book studies that encourage people to jump in at any time.  Visitors are always welcomed.  Pat McGuire leads the class.

Friends and Followers – Room 103 – These 50 and 60 year olds use book studies, often with videos, and take turns teaching each week.  The great discussions encourage active participation so that all learn from each other.  The group often attends outside activities together, like movies and plays.  Contact Denise Ott or Tammy Beam.

Singles Sunday School – Room 104 – This multi-age class of single adults enjoys Bible study and encouragement.  Contact Tim McHugh.

Promised Land – Room 106 – A group of unique individuals ages 21 and up who love the Lord with all their hearts.  We meet together to fellowship and to grow in the Lord.  The group motto is: “It’s all about Jesus!”

Together Loving Christ (TLC) – Room 107 –  This high energy class of young, married adults has already completed a Dave Ramsey study on Financial Peace.  Bible study and discussion for young adults.   Leaders are Aubrey and Craig DeLammermore.

Word in Season Class – Room 108 – This multi-age class enjoys in-depth Bible study and discussion.  The facilitator is Carol Varner.

Aldersgate Class – Upstairs in the Family Life Center behind the elevator (Butterfly Room) – This small, but mighty, group of young adults (ages approximately 18 to 25) create a loving, accepting environment.  Follow their Facebook group to stay abreast of their latest happenings.  Contact Angela Henderson for more information.

Disciple Bible Study

A 32-week journey through the Bible begins each August and ends in May.  The four in-depth, high-commitment studies provide opportunities to strengthen our faith and guide us to service and ministry.  Although the series can be taken in any order, it is highly recommended that Disciple I be taken first.

ETA Coalition

Men’s Group that meets at McDonald’s on Hwy 66 near Walmart at 6:30am every Wednesday morning.    Free coffee in a relaxed setting where we discuss a different scripture each week in small groups.  Men of all backgrounds and ages come together in fellowship to encourage one another in Christ.  All men are welcome.
