FRIDAY, APRIL 27, 2018 ~ HAVE A WOOLLY GREAT TIME IN CLAREMORE!
Yes, you read correctly – Friday – we will meet at Central Campus Disciple Hall at 8:15 am and leave at 8:30. We are heading to Shepherd’s Cross for their annual Woolly Weekend.
We will get to observe the work of real working shepherds! We’ll watch as the wool is shorn from the sheep – washed, spun, and woven. This is an actual sheep to shawl event – where the first wool shorn is actually made into a finished product that weekend. Demonstrations throughout the day on spinning wheels, carding, weaving on looms, felting, drop spindling, picking wool, broomstick lace and much more!
Afterwards enjoy a delightful Claremore lunch at a local restaurant. But we’re not done yet….then a private tour of the Claremore Museum of History.
You will need to bring your lunch money plus $5.00 for Shepherds’ Cross. Please sign up for a bus seat by Sunday, April 22, by clicking here.
HILLTOPPERS is open to anyone who would like to join this amazing group of people, age 50+. We normally meet the 3rd Thursday of every month.
