Whether you are a history enthusiast, a country music fan, or just like to experience interesting things, you will really enjoy this trip! The Woodie Guthrie Center in Tulsa’s Brady District is dedicated to preserving Woody Guthrie’s body of work and celebrating his life and the continuation of his legacy. Come with us and discover Woody’s important role in American history and his advocacy for social justice.

By visiting the fourth Thursday instead of our usual third week, we will be there for a special feature: “Marty Stuart’s Way Out West: A Country Music Odyssey,” curated by the GRAMMY Museum® in Los Angeles. Items that highlight the West Coast impact on country music, including memorabilia from Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens and Stuart himself will be on display. All of the items in the exhibit come from the private collection of Stuart, who also served as guest curator.

After soaking up all that “Americana,” we will travel back home through Catoosa where at Flo’s Burger Diner, we will enjoy some of the most delicious burgers you can find around this area. YUMMO!

Meet at 9:00 am that morning and bring $3.00 to help with bus expenses plus lunch money for the diner.

Don’t forget to reserve a seat on the bus! There are three ways to sign up for the trip: (1) Sign-up Book at the Welcome Desk, (2) online, or (3) contact Linda Pollock at Lpollock@claremorefumc.org.
